10 Offline Ways to Promote Your Website

The more traffic your website gets means more business for you. But getting traffic to your website isn’t always easy. Let’s face it. There are thousands, if not millions, of websites out there in your same niche and the chances of yours getting seen by lots of people takes a lot of work—and some good, hard promotion tactics. Here are 10 ways you can use to promote your web business:

1) Get some business cards with your website’s name and other business details printed on them and hand them out to everyone you meet. Give a few to family and friends and have them pass your business cards along to others who may have an interest in your business.

2) Go to your local printer shop and have some bumper stickers made with your website address on them. Use the bumper sticker on your car and ask family members or friends to put it on their cars as well. People will see the stickers while you are driving along.

3) Print flyers with your website name and other business information on them. You can hang the flyers on local bulletin boards. You can also pay a neighborhood child a small amount of money to deliver flyers around town.

4) Have some t-shirts made with your web address and a ‘neat’ logo on them. If it is attractive and eye-catching enough, people will notice.

5) Go to a local merchandiser and have pens made with your business name and website on them. These are great to hand out as a ‘freebie’ and people will always have your website address in front of them.

6) While at your local merchandiser, look into having coffee mugs with your logo, business name and web address on them. Not only will the people using the mugs have your business in front of them at all times, but their colleagues at work will notice too.

7) You can make up a magnetic sign that you can place on your car door that has all your business information and website address on it. Again, people will notice while you are driving.

8) Place a cheap 2-3 line ad in the newspaper or weekly newspaper shopper insert. All types of people will see your ad and notice your website.

9) Have some baseball caps made with your logo and web address on them. Wear the cap to keep the sun out of your eyes and advertise at the same time. Give them away to family and friends as well to get more advertising exposure.

10) Talk, talk, talk. Remember to talk to people about your business and website. Don’t be shy to mention your business. If you talk about it, the word will spread to others as well. And while you are talking, go back to #1 and hand out your business cards.

Don’t forget that your web visitors need to see great website content to keep them interested. Be sure to provide fresh and interesting information for your website visitors to enjoy—and keep them coming back for more.
